Secret codes can be engaging and fun for students who get creative with their code. This activity is a great introduction to sending messages using light and challenges students to think about how they can create their own code. Materials are easy to get and readily available at home, even a normal flashlight can work. I love puzzles and codes so this is a lot of fun! Secret codes help students with critical thinking and thinking outside the box, so this is great practice for a young cryptologist.
