Fun activity where kids can get their hands dirty… literally. Not overly complicated and a good explanation of how different warm-blooded animals can survive cold that we can't. I didn't have rubber bands, a hair tie works just as well. You could also substitute butter or some other kind of heavy fat for shortening if you don't have any on hand.
