Fun With Bubble Wands is a great activity in conjunction with the other Backyard Bubblefest activities. This activity shows you how to make 2 different types of bubble wands: a smaller pipe cleaner bubble wand and a larger wire coat hanger bubble wand. The pipe cleaner wand is very simple to make, plus you can get creative with the shape of the wands. By making different shaped wands, you can also demonstrate that a bubble will always form a spherical shape even though the wand is a different shape. For the wire coat hanger wand, parent help will be needed. The steps are easy to follow, but the materials might not be as readily available at home. Also, I did find the pipe cleaner gets a bit gunky after a while. Otherwise, I think this activity is fun and allows for creativity.
