This activity was very simple, but it was also very effective at teaching how plants absorb water and how they distribute it to each part of the plant. As an extension of this activity, you could cut the stems vertically, into 2 or 3 different “strands”, and then put those strands into cups of different colored water. Then your child can see which part of the stem provides water to individual petals.
