Part of the fun of this is measuring things and creating the elements that will be used. The process here makes kids feel like "real scientists". Once you get it to work, see how different lights make it react. Great explanations and ways to expand the activity, great step by step instructions and video. Overall I like this activity. If you are nervous that you don't have all of the supplies, see if you can find an alternative, for instance you may not have a gram scale, but just try your best to measure the amounts to what you think is right. I didn't have the right bulb so I tried a black light and I liked the results. I would definitely try this again.
