The activity basically involves going outside and taking a picture of your shadow. It’s not the most engaging or exciting project, but the site provides very good insight and information about the sun, earth’s rotation and orbits, and how that affects the direction and length of your shadow. The site also proved some additional resources to extend the activity, such as links to a sundial print-out, sun position calculator, shadow length calculator, etc. Alternatively, you could make this activity more visually interesting by doing this with a partner and tracing their shadow on the ground with chalk multiple times per day to see an overall picture of this concept.
