Paper airplanes are great activities for students to make and experiment with for fun. There is an introduction on the research of aeronautics to lead into the uniqueness of this paper airplane. Printing out the template for the glider isn’t necessary but can be helpful for students having difficulty with folding paper. Another variation of this ring glider is making a flat simple ring shape, instead of the “V” shaped crown, by folding the paper along the long edge similar to the instructions or research ring glider. Students can research the science of how the airfoil of an airplane helps it fly and improve or embellish this ring glider to get it to fly straighter or farther.
