Bird beaks is a fun game to play and gain firsthand experience of adaptations that occur in nature. A little parental guidance may be needed to gather the materials especially if substitutions are needed. If marbles or pony beads are not readily available, I suggest using different types of dried beans, rice, or jawbreaker candy to mimic marbles. If tongs or tweezers aren’t available, consider using a pair of pliers. The videos were great resources to tie into the activity, which provided good information on the variety of beaks and some birds that have those types of beaks.
