Classic Experiment. This is simple and easy to do and is fun over and over again. If you don't have or want to use a cookie sheet, you can just use the floor or any surface really that makes a clear noise. I used some plastic on top of a pillow and it worked good too. I also used a bouncy ball and a rock and it's fine to improvise that stuff as well, as long as they have different weights.
