The layout of this resource is very user friendly and professional laying out the objective, research questions, materials and procedure just like a laboratory handbook would have. The activity is very easy to do at home since the materials are common is the household. It is an elementary life science lesson that allows students to observe that plants use water to survive. The students can record their observations by drawing pictures or taking them with a camera. Older students can write down their observations and try to introduce other variables like if exposure to the sun can increase/decrease the rate at which the color moves to the leaves. There is a related lesson at the bottom of the page about plants and their that serves as a good background information to go over before the experiment.
